Touched by an Angel
Touched by an Angel Community Program
In April 2022, Eleanor, an English Cream Golden Retriever, and her owner, Carolyn, started Touched by an Angel. Each week, they travel to 3 assisted living centers in New Hampshire to bring the benefits of a therapy dog to seniors. In total, up to 97 seniors participate in weekly meetings with Eleanor and Carolyn.
Eleanor was born at Honor Therapy & Service Dogs-Charlotte, NC, and was trained at Giving Retriever, LLC to be a Service Dog/Therapy Dog.
In 2024, we expanded our program to Texas, where numerous service dogs-in-training travel to 8 assisted living centers and the local college to bring the benefits of therapy dogs to seniors and students. These visits benefit the dogs, as well, because they learn to follow commands in various settings.
